38th Annual Mother-Son Mass and Celebration--Enjoy the Photos!

The 38th Annual Mother-Son Mass and Celebration took place on Sunday, March 5. Gonzaga President Father Joseph E. Lingan, S.J. '75 presided over a beautiful Mass in St. Aloysius Church, which was followed by brunch in the Carmody Center and Lower Commons.

The collection during the Mass benefitted the church's sacristy, and donations are still being accepted online by clicking here. An important part of every Catholic church, the sacristy is where priests prepare to celebrate the Mass and where sacred items including vessels, vestments and books are stored. Thousands of Jesuit priests have prepared to celebrate Mass in the sacristy of St. Aloysius, which was built in 1859. Although in the 164 years since, the church has undergone several major renovations, the sacristy is long overdue for refurbishment. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

During the brunch that followed Mass, Dr. Jeanne Lord, Georgetown University's Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and the mother of a Gonzaga alumnus, served as the keynote speaker. Thank you to everyone who organized, volunteered at, and attended this wonderful springtime tradition at Gonzaga celebrating the bond between mothers and sons. We hope you enjoy these pictures from the day:
