Gonzaga Honored by Pigskin Club of Washington DC

On Friday, February 24 the Pigskin Club of Washington DC hosted its annual awards banquet. Founded in 1938 with goals of promoting the benefits of sports and fair play and bringing together those associated with the game who share those goals, the club recognizes student-athletes and coaches of the year in a number of sports. Additionally, academic achievement is recognized.

It was a fun night where three members of the current Gonzaga community were honored. Scott Waller, Gonzaga Head Soccer Coach, was named the 2022 All Metropolitan Boys High School Soccer Coach of the Year and Stefan Gately '23 was named 2022 All Metropolitan Boys High School Soccer Player of the Year. Evan Link '23 was named to the All-Metropolitan Offensive Team and Randy Trivers, Gonzaga Head Football Coach, was on hand to receive the award on Link's behalf.

Additionally, alum Caleb Williams '21 received The John Young Award for the Top College Football Player in the nation. His dad Carl was present for Williams.

Congratulations to all!
