Swim & Dive Wins 12th Straight WMPSSDL Championship

On Saturday, February 4, Swim & Dive won its 12th consecutive WMPSSDL Championship at the University of Maryland Eppley Center, finishing almost 200 points ahead of second place Georgetown Prep.

"The Eagles’ dominance was evident early: Finn Bacon, Trent Badrak, Malcolm McKenzie and Lucas Zidlicky claimed the 200-yard medley relay in 1 minute 35.29 seconds to start the meet," wrote the Washington Post. After pulling out a come-from-behind win in the last leg of the 200 freestyle relay, senior captain "[Aiden] Bond held the team trophy above his head and counted to 12 with his teammates before they plunged into the water to celebrate another dominant year." "Impressive wins for Coach Kilner and the boys the past two weeks," said Athletic Director Joe Reyda '85. "It gives them great momentum going into the season finale this weekend at the METRO Championships."

The Eagles will finish their season competing in the METRO Swim Championship held at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center. The prelims for the diving portion of the event took place on Wednesday, February 8 and the finals will be held on Friday, February 10. Both the prelims and finals for the swimming events will be held on Saturday, February 11.
