Gonzaga Hosts Purple Puck Tournament

Over the Christmas break, the entire hockey program participated in the 28th annual Purple Puck Tournament held at For Dupont Arena. V1 Hockey went 3-1-1 defeating Archbishop Spalding 7-2, Bishop O'Connell 5-3, and Loyola (IL) 3-1. In the teams' first matchup, Hockey tied St. Joe's Prep 4-4, but then fell in a rematch 6-1 during the final game. 

V2 Hockey won its division of the Purple Puck, going 5-0 in the tournament and outscoring their opponents for a combined 33-6 goal margin. In addition, on Thursday, December 29, Gonzaga Hockey hosted more than two dozen alumni in a spirited Hockey Alumni game at the Fort. Meanwhile V2 Hockey is 11-0 on the year. 

Following the Purple Puck, the V1 Eagles quickly bounced back, defeating Archbishop Spalding 3-2. Jack Trevisan '23 had 21 saves.

V1 Hockey is 8-3-2 on the year. Next up, the Eagles will travel to Mount St. Joes Monday, January 9th and then to the Windy City next weekend to play in the Chicago Showcase.
