Cross Country Wins Spiked Shoe Invitational

The cross country team raced on Saturday, September 24th, at the Spiked Shoe Invitational, a race with a more than 70 year history in the Baltimore area.

The Eagles came out on top, repeating their performance from 2019 with a resounding victory.  The team scored a mere 22 points, easily out-pacing the 2nd place team score of 103.  Lucas Rohde '24 led the way on the grassy course at Stevenson University, crossing the line in 16:25. Gonzaga runners Matt Podratsky '25 (16:52), Liam Thomson '23 (17:16), and Anthony Sarro '26 (17:25) nearly completed a sweep of the top spots by finishing 2-4-5.  The final Gonzaga scorer was Will Buckley '25 who crossed the line after cruising through the rolling hills in 17:57.
