Water Polo In Battle Of The Beltways

Last weekend the Varsity, JV A, and JV B water polo teams played 12 games at the US Naval Academy's annual Battle of the Beltways tournament.

In order to qualify for the tournament, JV B had to play several JV A teams and one Varsity squad; a tough slate of games that gave the water polo newbies some valuable and hard-earned experience.  JV A played several elite teams from Connecticut and notched a victory over Swim RVA.

The Varsity team went 2-2, with exciting victories over Episcopal and Mount St. Joe's.  Last year, MSJ defeated Varsity in the first round of the Easterns championship, making the win particularly sweet.  The team looks to take the lessons and experiences of the season so far up to Pennsylvania for two consecutive weekends of stiff competition.

Water Polo is now 3-3-1 on the year. Water Polo will head to Haverford School today, Friday, September 16th for a duel match.
