Football Earns Win #3, Faces Archbishop Spalding Tonight

On Friday, September 9th, the Football Eagles defeated Theodore Roosevelt 41-20. The visiting Rough Riders from NW Washington, DC dominated the first quarter and led 7-0. The Eagles fought back in the second quarter after an interception by LB Markeith Hogan '23 gave Gonzaga the ball in scoring position. RB David Fred '25 scored from 20 yards out to tie the game at 7-7. K John Holley '25 connected on 23 yard field goal  and DB Deuce Lee '23 snagged an interception to secure a 10-7 halftime lead for Eagles.

The second half, and the third quarter in particular, belonged to Gonzaga. RB Cody Hobson '24, WR Brendan Lee '23, and WR Jalen McDonald '23 all scored touchdowns to give the Eagles a 31-7 lead going into the fourth quarter. Hobson would score another touchdown and Holley would make another field goal to seal the win.
