Coach Turner Helps U17 FIBA to Gold Medal at World Cup

Coach Steve Turner, who won his 400th game as a Coach this year, added more hardware to his trophy case this summer. Earlier this month, Coach Turner served as one of the head assistants for the USA U17 FIBA World Cup team held in Malaga, Spain.
The USA Team went a perfect 3-0 in group play and rolled into the Gold Medal game to face the host team Spain. USA would defeated Spain 79-67 to win the U17 FIBA World Cup. You can watch the entire gold medal game here.

Coach Turner has served multiple years with U17 USA Basketball and has never been a part of loss. "It was great to be a part of keeping an unbelievable streak alive," said Coach Turner. "The experience was like no other that I have had in the game of basketball. Playing in Spain, against Spain, with 7,000 fans against you was crazy. It was a blessing to be able to coach the best of the best at the U17 level. My players were so humble and able to put their egos aside for the cause of representing our country!"

Congratulations Coach Turner! Hail Gonzaga.
