Track & Field Finishes 2nd at DCSAA Championship

Gonzaga Track & Field competed in the DCSAA Championship on May 25 and May 26 at Dunbar High School. After the first day of competition, the Eagles were in 5th place - just behind Sidwell, Dunbar, and St. Alban's with St. John's way out front with a clear path to the team title. First year head coach Conrad Singh '00 knew, however, that the team was well positioned to finish in either 2nd or 3rd by the end of the meet. Kainoa Winston '25, the WCAC Freshman of the Year, qualified for both the 100m and 200m finals and ended day by anchoring the gold medal 4x200 Relay:

Gonzaga also scored in the 3200m run on Thursday, taking 6th place and 8th place. Click here to see photos from Day 1.

The Eagles rallied on Friday for the 2nd place finish by placing and scoring in the following events: Shot Put (bronze), High Jump (bronze), 100m Dash (silver), 110m High Hurdles (bronze), 1600m Run (7th and 8th), 300m Intermediate Hurdles (6th and 7th), 200m Dash (gold and 7th), 4x100 Relay (silver), and 4x400 Relay (6th). "I'm very proud of the way that we were able to finish the year off strong," Coach Singh told the team during the awards ceremony. "We've laid the foundation for something special, and I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you."

Hail Gonzaga!
