Hockey Beats Mt. St. Joe’s, Ready to battle DC Rival

On Monday, November 29th, 2021, Gonzaga V1 Hockey defeated Mt. St. Joe’s 4-2 . The win prompted Gonzaga to a 2-1-1 record under first year head coach Kyle Sennott

The Eagles were led by freshman forward Roman Villegas ‘25 who cashed in a team high two goals. Sophomore defender Hamilton Norwind ‘24 recorded a goal and an assist while senior defender Davis Carpenter ‘22 joined in on the scoring action with one himself.

A joint effort from the goalie position held down the defense. Freshman goalie Carsten Komorowski ‘25 had a team high 13 saves while senior goalie Peter Pirone ‘22 had 8.

The Eagles game against Calvert Hall on December 1st has been postponed to a later date. Next up, V1 Hockey will travel to Rockville Ice Arena to face rival St. John’s on Friday, December 3 at 5:35pm.
