Soccer Draws Twice, Travels to Play in Jesuit Classic

The varsity Eagles played to two come-from-behind draws this week, playing to stalemates versus both Landon and Good Counsel.

Against Landon on Friday, September 17, Gonzaga trailed 3-1 before scoring the final two goals late in the game in front of a fun crowd. Here are some great highlights including all three Eagle goals:

On Tuesday, September 21, in a rematch of the 2019 WCAC Championship, Gonzaga trailed Good Counsel 2-1 with just under 5 minutes to play before junior Alex Chicas earned a penalty kick and slotted it in to tie the game. The final minutes saw a couple very good chances for both teams to earn the win, but in the end both squads settled for a hard-fought tie.

The team is in Aurora, Colorado for the annual Jesuit Soccer Classic where they take on Regis High School on Friday, September 24 at 11am ET and undefeated Rockhurst HS on Saturday, September 25 at 12:00pm EST. Both games can be watched online via www.NFHSnetwork.com for a fee.
