News of Alumni: Billy Miossi '05

A documentary film created by Billy Miossi '05 aired last week on the Start TV Network. Called Conversations About my Mother: 20 Years After, the film features discussions between Billy and his former Gonzaga classmate, Thomas Heidenberger, whose mother, Michele Heidenberger, died in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

On September 11, 2001, Michele Heidenberger, a 52-year-old mother of two, left her home in suburban Washington D.C. for Dulles Airport. Michele, a flight attendant with nearly 30 years of service, was scheduled as the lead flight attendant on American Airlines Flight 77. Later that morning, American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and deliberately crashed into the Pentagon.

20 years later, Michele's son Thomas offers an intimate glimpse into his tragic loss. 14 years old at the time of his mother's death, Thomas opens up to a former high school classmate who was with him on the morning of September 11th.

Over a series of conversations, he shares fading memories of his mother's life and along the way discovers the good in his, a life his mother Michele helped establish.
