Soccer Opens Bicentennial Season with Win on Buchanan

For the first time in two years, Gonzaga Soccer, reigning WCAC and DCSAA Champions, took to Buchanan Field to play DC International on a beautiful Thursday afternoon to open the regular season. The Dragons proved to be a formidable opponent but the Eagles in the end were too much, winning the game 6-2.

Senior Ben Fisher tallied two goals and an assist, Junior Axel Chicas also scored two, while Senior Simon Armstrong and Junior David Caballero each added a goal a piece.

The Eagles next take on local Jesuit school rival Georgetown Prep next Wednesday 9/8 at 5pm at Prep.
