Gonzaga Celebrates Ash Wednesday

The Gonzaga community celebrated the start of the Lenten season with three, socially-distanced Ash Wednesday prayer services on campus on Wednesday, February 17.

Students received ashes, listened to peer and faculty reflections, and then gathered in small groups to reflect and package care kits for clients of the Gonzaga Kitchen Project and Gonzaga Peace Club -- a sign of our commitment to almsgiving this Lent

The event, which brought students from all three hybrid learning cohorts onto campus in a safe and distanced manner, was organized by the Campus Ministry and Religion departments. “Today was an important touchstone to our mission and a reminder of the faith that binds us all together,” said Headmaster Mr. Tom Every.
