Singer, Songwriter, and Guitarist Pat McGee Visits with Gonzaga Guitar Club

On Friday, February 5, musician Pat McGee of The Pat McGee Band talked with members of Gonzaga’s Guitar Club over Zoom.

Pat McGee, who graduated from Bishop O'Connell in Arlington, has been playing in bands since his high school days. He has put out four albums with the band and five others on his own, and has shared the stage with the Who, the Allman Brothers, James Taylor, and many more. He also performed for President Bill Clinton at a going-away party right before the president left office.

During the hour-long talk, Pat talked with the Guitar Club members about his musical journey including his first gig in front of the O’Connell student body; major influences (his older brother Hugh, the Allman Brothers Band, and James Taylor); the rock-n-roll lifestyle; writing music; and equipment.

Pat spent time talking with each member about what instruments they play, how and why they started playing guitar, and their goals to take them further with their own musical journey.
