Model UN wins big at Stanford Virtual Conference

During the second weekend of November, Gonzaga's Model UN club competed in a virtual conference at Stanford University, where they had the chance to debate against students from schools around the world, including from Brazil, Ecuador, and Indonesia.

Altogether, the Gonzaga team walked away with four awards. Matthew Dowd '22 and Matias Camp '22 were each awarded a Best Delegation Gavel, Timmy Shaheen '21 was awarded Outstanding Delegation, and Pedro DaSilveira '21 and Charlie Meyer '22 received Honorable Mentions.

Gonzaga's traditional Model UN season kicks off at the beginning of December with a virtual conference at Wootton. "With any luck, the boys will continue to do Gonzaga proud and bring home the flood of awards that has become the norm for our team," said Carl Cardozo, Classics & Social Studies Teacher and Model UN Moderator.

Congratulations to all who participated in the virtual conference and best of luck with the rest of your season!
