News of Alumni: Matt Walter ’18 and Alex Gomez '18
The Backfires, a band that includes two Gonzaga alumni, has recently released two new songs. Alex Gomez '18 helped started the band in October 2018, and then recruited his Gonzaga classmate, Matt Walter '18, to join in May 2019.
Alex, Matt, and their British bandmate, Harry, have since played many shows along the east coast and in January 2020 recorded an EP in London. During quarantine, the group has worked on six songs for their upcoming EP, called “Consider the Backfires.” Their first single “Anything” was released on October 16 after being played on BBC Radio. Their most recent single "Anything" came out on Monday, October 26. You can watch the video for it below:
