Juniors Back on Campus for College Counseling G Day

On Wednesday, September 2, about 150 members of the junior class came down to Eye Street in small groups for a discussion about College Counseling and a chance to spend some time with their classmates.

Mr. Patrick Gallagher, Gonzaga's Director of College Counseling, spoke with each of the groups about the college application process, breaking down some of the myths about applying to college with the hope of assuaging any anxiety the juniors may be feeling.

"There's always uncertainty in this process," says Mr. Gallagher. "Now, with Covid-19, there's another layer of uncertainty on top. Our role in the College Counseling Office is to navigate this whole process with students and parents."

The program was one of several that Mr. Gallagher and the College Counseling Office have introduced since the beginning of this school year. Earlier this week, the final of four virtual senior parent college nights took place. In addition, every other Thursday in September, College Counseling is planning to host virtual coffees where parents can drop in to ask questions and hear updates about College Counseling.

Here is a short video recap of the Junior G Day on campus, including some shots of the field games that took place on Buchanan Field. We enjoyed having these guys back on Eye Street this week!
