Peter Wild ’23 Serves High-Risk Community Members on Spring Break

Motivated by Mr. Every’s words regarding the expectations of Gonzaga students to practice social justice over Spring Break, sophomore Peter Wild decided to deliver meals to high-risk community members.

Peter and the entire Wild family, in partnership with the World Central Kitchen, a non-profit founded by local chef José Andrés, helped to identify first responders at two local fire departments, senior citizens, and high-risk people in the community. They then helped to deliver meals to those community members twice a week.

Peter plans to continue this service and add others in need through grassroots emails and social media postings. He has coordinated with members of his family to pick up the meals where they are being prepared by Andrés and his team at Nationals Park and to deliver them door-to-door throughout May.
