Two Juniors Named Winners in the Parkmont Poetry Contest

Every spring, the Parkmont School in D.C.’s 16th Street Heights neighborhood celebrates the creative talents of the District of Columbia’s middle and high school students by sponsoring the annual Parkmont Poetry Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 6-12 from public, private, and charter schools throughout the District. This year’s competition drew more than 400 submissions.

Congratulations also to the following students who were named finalists in the competition: Tre McGuire '20, Jestus Johnson '20, Luca Docking '20, William D'Albora '20, Robert Dubay '20, and Ian Miller '20.

In addition to receiving a small cash prize, the winning students’ poems were published in a book by the Parkmont School.
