Gonzaga Best Buddies Club Members Support Second Annual “Downtown Dribble” Basketball Event

On Saturday, February 22, the Gonzaga and Georgetown Visitation Best Buddies Clubs partnered to host their second annual “Downtown Dribble” basketball event for children with special needs.

“Both clubs wanted an extra chance to meet students with disabilities,” said Gonzaga club president, Gavin McElhennon ‘20 regarding how the event began two years ago. “Basketball seemed like a great idea because most of the buddies also play it through Special Olympics — so it would give everyone the chance to have a good time.”

The special needs students came from local public high schools such as Yorktown, George Mason, and Washington Liberty.

Congratulations to all involved in this great event!
