Swim and Dive Wins 4th Championship of the Season

Congratulations to the Swimming and Diving Eagles on completing the first-ever "Quadruple Crown" by winning the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving championships also know as Metros on Saturday, February 8. The WCAC Championship meet was added to the annual schedule in 2018. The team won that meet all three years along with the last ten WMPSSDLs titles, but this is the first year since 2017 that Gonzaga has captured the Catholic Nationals and Metros titles.

The Washington Post wrote, "In the boys’ competition, Gonzaga lost relay battles but won the war. The Eagles finished as runners-up in two relays to Georgetown Prep but beat their rival for the team title with 488 points to the Little Hoyas’ 398. Georgetown Prep set the meet record in 200 medley relay (1:31.70) and also won the 400 freestyle relay, but Gonzaga won the 200 freestyle relay and took home the team championship."
