Twelve Eagles Earn All-Met Honors, Waller Named Coach of the Year

Congratulations to our twelve fall student-athletes who were named to Washington Post All-Met teams on December 17, 2019. Also, congratulations to head soccer coach, Scott Waller, for being named Coach of the Year! Here is the complete list:

Cross Country

1st Team: Cullen Capuano ’20
  • The Washington Post wrote, “A four-year varsity runner, he put up top times at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and D.C. State Athletic Association meets. Capuano finished 49th in the Nike Southeast Regional.”
2nd Team: Patrick Donnelly ‘21

Football
 
1st Team: Luke Petitbon ’20
  • The Washington Post wrote, “The Wake Forest commit finished with 63 pancake blocks, leading an offensive line filled with Division I prospects.”
1st Team: Caleb Williams ’21
  • The Washington Post wrote, “Williams threw for 1,770 yards and 19 touchdowns against just four interceptions. He also ran for 838 yards and 18 touchdowns to earn his second straight first-team selection.”
2nd Team: Olu Fashanu ‘20

Soccer

Coach of the Year: Scott Waller
  • The Washington Post wrote, “In his 14th season as the varsity coach on Eye Street, Waller led a team that evolved slowly but surely. The 2007 All-Met Coach of the Year helped engineer a drastic turnaround after his team started 2-5-5. The Eagles ended it by going 12-1-1, including DCSAA and WCAC championship victories.”
1st Team: Ryan Elie ‘20
  • The Washington Post wrote, “The attacking midfielder was integral to the Eagles’ championship runs in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and D.C. State Athletic Association brackets.”
2nd Team: Finn McCaslin ‘20
 
In addition to the All-Met honors, all of our cross country and soccer Eagles mentioned above were also honored by the DCSAA. Capuano was named Runner of the Year and Waller was named Coach of the Year. Click here to see the press release.
