Football Celebrates Start of 2019 Season with Annual Events

On August 4 and 5, the Gonzaga Football program held two of its annual events to celebrate the beginning of the 131st season. On Saturday, the team traveled to the steps of the Capitol for "Media Day" courtesy of Stone Photography and volunteer parent photographers. On Sunday, the annual "Kickoff Mass and Gonzaga Touchdown Club Potluck Lunch" took place in the Great Church of St. Aloysius. Recently retired faculty member Father Gerry O'Connor, SJ, was the celebrant with seniors and coaches participating in the various roles to support the Mass. New this year, in addition to the Mass and the lunch, over 70 Dads and Moms participated in "Family Fun on Buchanan Field" by playing a 7on7 game and partaking in a QB Challenge.
