Students Travel to Costa Rica on Spanish Immersion Trip

From June 10-18, eleven Gonzaga students and two faculty members, Madeline Albrittain and Patrick Welch, travelled to Costa Rica for a week of full cultural and Spanish language immersion.

Students spent the week staying with local families in Atenas, Costa Rica. They spent their mornings taking interactive Spanish classes where they interviewed local business owners and visited the local markets. Other highlights of the trip included participating in a traditional Costa Rican cooking class, visiting an animal rescue ranch, volunteering at a local preschool, surfing and visiting the beach, ziplining in the Cloud Forest, and hiking to Hot Springs and the La Fortuna Waterfall.
