Rugby Wins MAVRC Titles, Beats Xavier at Nationals, Looks to Repeat as Champions

The varsity purple rugby Eagles defeated Georgetown Prep to win the Division I MAVRC league championship on Friday, May 10, 19-0. Many alumni were on hand to provide an exciting atmopshere on Eye Street. Click here to see the @GonzagaSports livestream that aired in real time.

Additionally, the varsity black rugby Eagles beat The Heights in the Division II MAVRC league championship on Thursday, May 16, 26-10. The match was also livestreamed and can be watched here.  

Varsity Purple headed to Nationals on Tuesday, May 14 and held there final practice before Thursday night's quarterfinal versus east coast rival Xavier (NY):


The Eagles prevailed in a hard fought match 28-25 over Xavier to advance to the semifinal against Jesuit (CA) today, Friday, May 17 at 7:30 PM EST.
