Golf Wins Fifth Straight WCAC Title, Taylor '19 Leads the Way

The varsity golf Eagles won the 2019 WCAC Championship on Tuesday, May 7 at the Northwest Golf Course behind an extraordinary performance by Jimmy Taylor ‘19, who won low medalist for the second year in a row shooting a personal best 6 under (66). “I knew this course from last year and I didn’t think it was that tough,” Taylor said. “I just wanted to go out there and hit a lot of greens, and maybe make a couple putts.” Click here to read the complete Washington Post article. 

The team scored 367 to defeat DeMatha (392) and O'Connell (397). Gonzaga's individual scores were strong across the board with Coley Hunter ‘19, Kevin Johnson ‘19, and Marshall Miesel ‘21 shooting a 75; Pieter Degroot ‘19 finishing with 76; and Patrick McCarthy ‘19 completing his round at 78.


Both Gonzaga and DeMatha advanced to contend for the Metros championship at PB Dye on Tuesday, May 14 along with Georgetown Prep and Bullis from the Interstate Athletic Conference.
