National Honor Society Welcomes New Members

On Monday, March 18, Gonzaga’s chapter of the National Honor Society held a ceremony to induct 72 new members.

All of the inductees have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher and have also exhibited excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, and service during their tenure at Gonzaga.

The ceremony was led by three seniors who have served as elected officers throughout the 2018-2019 school year: Daniel Podratsky ’19, Jack Pfefferkorn ’19, and Jon Bingel ’19. 

Dr. Marc D. Connell, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement, gave the keynote address of the evening. He is the father of Marc Connell '14 and Woods Connell '16 and the husband of new Gonzaga Board of Trustees member Dr. Mary Beth Connell.

After the speech, the newly elected officers for the 2018-2019 school year were introduced. Congratulations to Joseph Connors '20, Ryan Leutjen ‘20, Gavin McElhennon '20, Joseph O’Berry ’20, Josh Pfefferkorn '20, and Benjamin Rutherford ’20. 

The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize exceptional high school students. All members of the Gonzaga chapter are expected to maintain their academic standing and serve as mentors to underclassmen.
