Football Eagles Defeat Cadets 24-14 to Advance to WCAC Championship

After knocking off nationally ranked St. John's 24-14 in dramatic fashion, the varsity football Eagles have advanced to the WCAC Championship for the second straight year. The Metro Division Championship game between St. Mary's Ryken and Bishop O'Connell will precede the much-anticipated rematch with DeMatha for the Capital Division crown. The Eagles lost to to the Stags in a three overtime thriller, 27-21 on October 6. For those of you planning to come out to the game, here's some useful information about tickets, parking, and stadium seating:

  • Game tickets ($10) are on sale via the WCAC online here, there is an additional $1.50 service fee.  Tickets purchased at the gate will be cash only.
  • Here's a rundown of the game-day schedule: 
11:00am – Stadium opens for St. Mary’s Ryken vs Bishop O’Connell
1:00pm – WCAC Metro Division Championship Game
4:00pm – On-Site Pre-Game Preparation begins for DeMatha Catholic vs Gonzaga College
6:00pm – WCAC Capital Division Championship Game

  • All parking is first come first serve.  Lot #1 has approximately 150 spots, Lot #2 has approximately 200 spots, Lot #3 has approximately 3,000 spots. Also, the Brookland-CUA Metro stop on the Red line is located across from Lot #3.
