Hockey Plays Well in Purple Puck, V2 Wins Title

Congratulations to the Gonzaga Hockey's V2 Eagles on their great play over the break. The team went 4-0 in the 26th Purple Puck to win the “Varsity Division” over St Joe's Prep (PA), 4-3 on December 28. Additionally, the Eagles got a big win over St Mary’s Ryken, 5-4 on January 2. The team is back in action today, January 4 vs St. Stephen's St. Agnes at Mt. Vernon.

The V1 Eagles played tough in the Purple Puck, winning their first two games over Loyola Academy (IL) 3-2 and St. John's 6-5.  But the team dropped its last two games to New Jersey State Champion The Hun School 6-4 and St. Ignatius (IL) 4-2 in the semifinal.  Click here to read "The Purple Puck just keeps growing in Washington" in the Washington Post
