News of Alumni: Chase Gasper '14

Chase Gasper '14, a member of the University of Maryland Men's Soccer team, helped lead the Terps to their fourth national championship in school history. Chase had suffered an injury early in the season, but returned to action in mid-October.

This article in the Diamondback, Maryland's student newspaper, foreshadowed Chase's role in the team's strong finish to their 2018 season. After missing six games due to the injury, Chase made an immediate impact upon returning to the field. “It was an incredible feeling,” he said. “Not being able to play with your brothers, your teammates, it hurts. I was chomping at the bit the four weeks I was out. Watching the games from the sidelines—no player wants to do that.”  Click here to read the full article.

The championship game took place on Sunday, December 9 in Santa Barbara, CA vs Akron. Maryland won an exciting match, 1-0.  Click here to see video highlights via the NCAA's website.  Click here to read an ESPN article.
