Here is some more information about Steve's family, interests, and career background:

Steve is happiest either with his family or outside, preferably both. After graduating from Vanderbilt in 1993, he served in the US military in both active and National Guard roles. He left the Army as an Infantry captain and is Airborne and Ranger qualified. Sleeping under the stars eight months a year was a hard habit to kick, so after joining Wall Street he escaped on adventures as often as possible. Whether dog sledding in the Arctic Circle or summiting Denali, the adventures had to involve suffering and hardship to be memorable. There are lots of good memories.

Steve traded equity derivatives for 12 years before moving into sales, eventually building an equity derivatives business into the market leader with number one market share during his tenure. Steve has been married for 16 years to Angela and they have 3 kids.

Steve says the Jesuits at Gonzaga planted seeds of stewardship and social justice in him that have grown for 30 years. He loves underdog causes and has been involved with many nonprofits that are trying to do a lot with a little. If he is not with his family or on an adventure, Steve can usually be found working in the yard or seeking answers from the hammock with a good book. He realized his passion for the outdoors, his leadership training, and his business experience could help the environment by improving process--something that has become a passion during his adult life.

We hope to see you on October 24!
