Water Polo Wins Four at Battle of Beltways

Last week was a big one for Gonzaga Water Polo. The varsity Eagles traveled to Philadelphia to take on a tough Haverford team on Friday, September 7.  On Saturday and Sunday, the entire program competed in the Battle of the Beltways Tournament at the Naval Academy in Annapolis.

Although the team dropped the Haverford match, it  won four of five games in tournament play. Victories came over the Potomac Water Polo Club (12-8), St. Benedict's (12-6), Mt. St. Joe's (11-4), and Greenwich B (11-4).  Navy 16U defeated the Eagles (12-6) in the final match.

Gonzaga travels to the Xavier Invitational in Ohio this weekend.
