Lacrosse Wins WCAC Championship!

Varsity Lacrosse defeated Paul VI 10-7 to win its eighth WCAC lacrosse title in the last nine years on May 7 at University of Maryland's Ludwig Field.  The Eagles jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first half before the Panthers mounted a comeback to cut the lead to 7-5.  Gonzaga would respond with the next two goals and hold on to win 10-7.

Head Coach Casey O'Neill is extremely proud of his team and his coaching staff for all of the work they put in to get back to the top of the WCAC.  At the end of their final practice on Buchanan Field, he urged the team to "think about how blessed we are."  And at the end of the game, he asked Father Planning to help them give thanks:

Since falling to Paul VI on April 10, the team won 10 straight games to close the season and bring the trophy back to Eye Street. Click here to read a recap of the game from The Washington Post.

Congratulations to the team, coaches, and families!
