Lacrosse Beats St. John's, Earns Trip to WCAC Championship

Before the start of the WCAC playoffs this week, the varsity lacrosse Eagles won seven games straight, including two big victories against St. John's and DeMatha to end the regular season.


Gonzaga beat Ireton 13-4 in the quarterfinal on April 30 which set-up a rematch of last year's WCAC final vs St. John's on Thursday, May 3 back on Buchanan Field under the lights.  In front of a great crowd on Eye Street, Coach O'Neill's team punched its ticket to the 2018 WCAC Championship with a 12-9 victory over the Cadets.

Gonzaga will face Paul VI, who defeated O'Connell 8-4 in the other semifinal. The Eagles will look to avenge a regular season loss to PVI and reclaim the WCAC title for Eye Street. 

The game will be played on Monday, May 7 at 7pm at University of Maryland's Ludwig Field located at 7898 Championship Ln, College Park, MD 20740.  Tickets are $10 at the gate.
