Basketball Knocks Off #1 DeMatha

Coming off a tough loss to Paul VI earlier in the week, Varsity Basketball defeated top-ranked DeMatha 71-62 in Hyattsville on Thursday, January 12. The Eagles were led by the strong play of Myles Dread ’18 and Terrence Williams ’20, who combined to score 40 points for the team.

Although Gonzaga led most of the game, it was very close throughout, with the Eagles’ lead never growing larger than 10 points. “It’s the WCAC, we’re going to have a battle every night,” Dread told the Washington Post. “DeMatha-Gonzaga, it’s always going to be a good game.”

Below are some great photos from the win. Click here to read a full recap of the game from the Washington Post. Congrats to Coach Turner and the team!
