Hockey Defeats Landon, Remains Undefeated Locally

Hockey's V1 Eagles beat Landon by a score of 5-1 at Fort Dupont on Wednesday, January 10. Gonzaga (10-3-1, 4-0-1 Mid-Atlantic Prep Hockey League) and Landon (10-2, 2-1) have split the past eight MAPHL championships. The Eagles trailed 0-1 after the first period, but Coach Slater’s team made some key adjustments in their attack to find the net twice in the second period to take the lead.

“This was a good performance with the defense killing power plays and the offense scoring a bunch,” senior captain Chase Vallese said. “We are playing good hockey right now. Everyone on this team has found their role.”
