Basketball Wins Second Straight D.C. Classic Title

The varsity basketball Eagles won their second straight Gonzaga D.C. Classic tournament championship on December 10, 2017 in the Carmody Center. Coach Turner’s team was led by senior guard Myles Dread who was named MVP of the tournament. Dread was also named to the All-Tournament team and scored his 1,000th career point for Gonzaga in the championship game. Terrance Williams ’20 and Chuck Harris ’20 were also named to the All-Tournament Team. The Eagles beat St. Maria Goretti (73-58), Charlotte Christian (59-43), and Roman Catholic (71-53) to capture the title.

At halftime of the championship game, senior hockey player Henry Middlebrook was honored with the 2017 Mike Keller Scholar Athlete award.
