Cross Country Wins WCAC Championship

Congratulations to Varsity Cross Country, which won the 2017 WCAC Championship on Saturday, October 28 at Bull Run Regional Park in Manassas, Virginia. This was the team’s first WCAC title since 2012!

Six of Gonzaga’s seven runners placed in the top 12, with sophomores Gavin McElhennon and Cullen Capuano finishing in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. You can read the complete results here, and also read a recap of the race from the Washington Post here.

The team has one more race this season: the DC Championships this Saturday, November 4, at Kenilworth Park. Gonzaga is the defending champion—the JV race begins at 11:35, the varsity at 12:45.

Good luck to Coach Ausema and the team this weekend!
