Football Comes Away With Win Over Peddie School at Franklin Field

Coming off of a disappointing loss in the first night game ever on Buchanan Field, the varsity football team earned an impressive 30-6 victory over Peddie School from New Jersey on Friday, September 8.  The night game was played on historic Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania--a memorable experience for the boys and all the fans who made the trip to Philadelphia to watch them play. 
 
The Eagles traveled to Philadelphia on Thursday after school and practiced at Temple University before heading to the hotel. On Friday, the players had the chance to tour the University of Pennsylvania's campus, including a walk-through of Franklin Field.

The game was a hard-fought victory, with impressive performances from defensive back Jordan Colbert '18, who had two interceptions, quarterback Caleb Williams '21, who had two touchdowns on the ground, and linebacker/running back Loic Sangwa '19, who led the way on defense and also scored the other two touchdowns for Gonzaga.

The Eagles are now 1-1 on the season and turn their attention to the annual Jesuit Gridiron Classic vs Georgetown Prep on Saturday, September 16 at 2pm on Buchanan Field to benefit the Washington Jesuit Academy.
