Black History Month Speaker Series - Messiah Johnson

Messiah Johnson was wrongfully convicted of a 1998 armed robbery of a Norfolk beauty salon and sentenced to 132 years in prison, a story far too common in this country. Mr. Johnson was pardoned in 2018 with the help of Visitation graduate and lawyer, Deirdre Enright. Ms. Enright is also the aunt of Gonzaga freshman, Dalton Enright '23. After our community grappled with the Just Mercy text, and on the heels of the new movie's release, this is a powerful story that hits close to home. Deirdre Enright's Ted Talk about Messiah Johnson can be viewed here.
