Gonzaga Ice Hockey kicks off its season every year with the Dominik Pettey Purple White Game, an inter-squad game played in honor of friend and teammate Dominik Pettey ’15, who died in a car accident in 2014.
The event raises money for the Dominik L. Pettey ’15 Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund at Gonzaga. Dominik, whose #11 was retired by Gonzaga hockey after his tragic death, embodied the spirit of Gonzaga, and the fund is one way we keep his legacy strong on Eye Street. All gifts help make a Gonzaga education possible for deserving students.

Held each year in November, the Mass of Thanksgiving is jointly hosted by the GMC and Eagles' Wings, Gonzaga’s club for parents of alumni. Everyone in the Gonzaga community—students, parents, alumni, and faculty—are invited to a Sunday morning Mass and a breakfast reception that follows. This year's Mass of Thanksgiving will be held on Sunday, November 14th and celebrated by Gonzaga's President, Fr. Joseph E. Lingan, SJ '75. Click here for more information.
Volunteers are needed to set up; serve as readers, ushers or Eucharistic ministers at the Mass; and help prepare and serve the breakfast. If you have any questions, please contact event organizer at thanksgiving@gonzagamothers.org.

Gonzaga Hockey is excited to welcome our alumni back to the "Fort" for the annual alumni game. The game is Wednesday, November 23 from 4:15-6pm and will finish in plenty of time so players can head over Eye Street and the Alumni Bicentennial Smoker. The Smoker is from 7-11pm.
Each year on the night before Thanksgiving, Gonzaga’s oldest alumni tradition, the Alumni Association Smoker, draws hundreds of Gonzaga faithful back to Eye Street. The Smoker is a reunion for all alumni, Gonzaga fathers past and present, faculty and staff, and friends of the school -- bringing them together to kick off the holiday season.
The 2021 Smoker will take place on Wednesday, November 24. Click here to register, and please note our Covid safety policy outlined on the page. All attendees are encouraged to use CrowdPass in advance to speed up the entry process; those who do not submit proof of vaccination or a negative test in advance will be required to present their documentation at the door.
Come on out and enjoy a great day on Eye Street at the 18th Annual Gonzaga/Old Glory Thanksgiving Touch Tourney. Be a part of celebrating the school's 200th anniversary and 33 years of Gonzaga Rugby. We hope to have some of our alums playing professionally for Old Glory and maybe a few of their mates to join in on the fun.
The format (depending on amount of teams) will look something like this:
Round Robin/Pool Play Tournament
Comprised of 7-10 player teams
7 vs 7, 7 minute halves, ROLLING SUBS.
Semi Finals and Finals to follow pool play
We will make sure to guarantee each team 2-3 games (again, depending on overall participation)
And to make things more interesting: Enter your own team! Take charge and call up some of the old boys, and put your squad together.
If you don't feel like putting a team together, no worries- show up on Thanksgiving Friday and we will assemble teams of free agents or assign you to a pre-formed team.

Gonzaga Crew Alumni Row
All interested Gonzaga rowing alumni who wish to row or just socialize are invited to attend this annual event. Alumni friends who are active college oarsmen are also encouraged to attend.
2019 saw us launch the largest number of alumni eights ever. Let's try to set a new record this year! Seniors of the Class of 2022 will also be fielding a crew. The undergrads won the race in 2019. Alumni will be seeking to halt that streak at one!
Refreshments will be served after rowing courtesy of the Gonzaga Crew Boosters.
