    NHS Canned Food Drive

The National Honor Society Canned Food Drive will run from Monday Oct 29th to Friday Nov 2nd and will again be run through the various homerooms. The overall goal for the drive is 15,000 cans and 85% student participation. If we achieve this goal then the entire school will receive a dress down day.

In addition to the school wide goal, the drive is also a competition between homerooms. In order to prioritize what the McKenna center needs the most the following point system is used:

    - 3 points: Soup, preferably Campbells chunky, Progresso, and condensed soups (cream of mushroom or tomato)
    - 2 points: Baked Beans (12-18oz) AND Jelly (grape or strawberry in plastic jars around 16oz)
    - 1 point for all other items.
    - NOTE - Ramen packets will be half a point.  Each 12 pack of ramen=6 points, each 24 pack=12 points, individual=½ point
    - Lower priority items are canned veggies,  canned fruits, and peanut butter. These items can be easily acquired through the food bank. They will gladly take anything but please prioritize the point items listed above.

ALL ITEMS BROUGHT IN BY WEDNESDAY MORNING WILL COUNT FOR DOUBLE POINTS!!!!!

If these incentives are not enough, we will also be competing against St. John's again this year as they run their drive during the same week. The school that earns a higher percentage of their respective goals will be the winner. So as always, lets work to BEAT ST. JOHNS.

Because this is a Community Schedule Day the bake sale will begin before school and continue until the start of Mass (9:20).  If you are contributing to the bake sale you do not need to send in homemade items, you can purchase your baked goods at any store.

  • Alumni Rugby Game

    Buchanan Field
Out with the old, in with the new. After several high-level discussions with Coach Kelly, we have decided to change the format of this year's alumni game, and host the first ever Gonzaga Rugby Alumni Touch Tournament.

The new format will hopefully make things more inclusive for everyone- no matter if you're still currently playing or haven't touched a ball in a few years, if you're running marathons or watching Netflix marathons on your couch. Come on out, and enjoy a great day on Eye Street. We all know you don’t want to go to your Great Aunt’s house to visit, so put the Alumni Game back on your schedule as something you have to be at.

The format (depending on amount of teams) will look something like this:
    Round Robin/Pool Play Tournament
    Comprised of 7-10 player teams
7 vs 7, 7 minute halves, ROLLING SUBS.
Semi Finals and Finals to follow pool play
We will make sure to guarantee each team 2-3 games (again, depending on overall participation)

And to make things more interesting: Enter your own team! Take charge and call up some of the old boys, and put your squad together. Our goal is to have this year's alumni game have the largest turnout of Gonzaga alumni in recent history, and this is the easiest way to guarantee that!

If you don't feel like putting a team together, no worries- show up on Thanksgiving Friday, and we will assemble teams of free agents, or assign you to a pre-formed team.

Looking forward to seeing you at this year's Gonzaga Rugby Alumni Game! Go Eagles.
