    Purple Eagle Rowing Camp

Gonzaga's Learn to Row Camp is a one-week camp for incoming Gonzaga freshmen that takes place from July 30 to August 3. This camp is a great opportunity to see what rowing at Gonzaga is all about. Few if any boys arrive at Gonzaga with any rowing experience. Everyone is starting at the same point. If you ever wanted to try a new sport in high school, rowing could be it. We welcome athletes from all backgrounds, shapes and sizes. You don’t need to attend all five days either, we just want the chance to show the Class of 2022 what the Gonzaga Crew Program has to offer.

The Gonzaga LTR Camp has also proved a great way just to meet your classmates before school starts. You don’t need to make any sort of commitment, though Freshman Crew does get started in the fall. You can do another sport in the fall or winter and still join crew in the spring.

The camp is staffed with college-age Gonzaga Crew Alumni and current members of the varsity team as counselors and coaches. Year after year crew campers have said those five days on the river were among the most fun days of their entire summer.

For almost 25 years Gonzaga rowing has built championship varsity crews with boys who had no idea what rowing was about before coming to Gonzaga. Our crews have competed all over America and in England and dozens of our athletes have gone on to row in college at places like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, Cornell, MIT and the Naval Academy, to name just a few.

Try it out. Find out what the excitement is all about.

Welcome to Gonzaga, and thank your for your interest in Crew—we can't wait to see you out on the water!
