Headmaster's Welcome

Hello and welcome! My name is Tom Every and I have the privilege of serving as the Headmaster at Gonzaga. I could not be more grateful for this opportunity.
Saint Ignatius tells us that we ought to “act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God.” You’ll find that is the way things work at Gonzaga. We are a community of believers guided by God and dedicated to one another. Gonzaga is a place rooted in deep tradition and unwavering faith. It is a place where prayer and service are as important as any other facet of life. It is also a community where everyone knows what it means to work hard. Our alumni give generously of their time, treasure, and talent. Our parents plan and execute countless activities and events, often, it must seem, spending more time at Gonzaga than at home. Our faculty, coaches, and staff work tirelessly to mold minds, strengthen bodies, and warm hearts. They work to keep our school beautiful and our students safe.

We co-labor for the benefit of our greatest asset: the young men of Gonzaga. We do not do this because we want them to be wealthy or famous, because we want them to go to good colleges, or because we want any accolade or reward. No, we do this for God’s greater glory. We do this so that our studentsour childrenmay enter the world and both be the face of Christ and see the face of Christ in every person they encounter. That alone is our measure of success. For the four years a student is on Eye Street, we all work as if the outcome depends upon us, but we all trust and pray that God is guiding our actions in all that we do. How else can one explain the indelible and everlasting Gonzaga spirit?

It is my greatest hope that the Gonzaga spirit will continue to thrive and that we can continue to work together to make Gonzaga College High School the best version of itself that it can be. Moreover, I hope that we can continue to fulfill Gonzaga’s mission to form young men who are open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice. I feel so very blessed to be a part of this magnificent endeavor!

Sincerely,

Thomas K. Every II
