Coach Dick Myers Inducted into DCSAA Hall of Fame!

Legendary coach Dick Myers was inducted into the DCSAA Hall of Fame on Friday, June 7.  "Longtime boys basketball coach at Gonzaga, who guided his teams to four Catholic league championships. Had a career record of 714-362 and 61 of his former players became captain of their college teams," writes the DCSAA website.  Click here to see a complete list of the recipients.

Many attribute the standard of excellence that Gonzaga Athletics holds today to the success of Gonzaga Basketball in the 1980's. Coach Myers' teams were the first in decades to garner recognition for Eye Street, and by the end of his career championship banners from all sports were earned annually. In addition to jumpstarting Gonzaga Athletics in the late 1970's and early 1980's, Coach Myers taught English at Gonzaga for over 25 years. After his retirement in 2004, the Carmody Center floor was renovated and renamed "Coach Myers Court" in his honor. To this day, Gonzaga basketball and Coach Myers are synonymous.

Congratulations Coach!
