The Honorable Jack Farley to Serve as Keynote Speaker at 70th Annual Father-Son Communion Breakfast

The Gonzaga Fathers Club (GFC) is pleased to announce that retired judge and Vietnam Veteran Judge John “Jack” Farley III will be the keynote speaker at the 70th Annual Father-Son Communication Breakfast on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

In 1989, Judge Farley was nominated by President George H. W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate as a Judge of the United States Court of appeals for Veterans Claims, where he served for over 20 years. Prior to his appointment, Judge Farley was a member of the Senior Executive Service and a Director of the Torts Branch, Civil Division, within the United States Department of Justice.

Prior to his government service, Judge Farley received his A.B. degree in economics from the College of the Holy Cross, his M.B.A. degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Hofstra University School of Law.

Judge Farley served in the U. S. Army from 1966 until his retirement as a captain in 1970 due to wounds received during combat in Vietnam. His decorations include four Bronze Star Awards, two Purple Hearts, and the Army Commendation Medal.

Mr. Farley has taught administrative law and federal litigation as an adjunct professor at the Columbus School of Law of the Catholic University of America and has served as a board member for the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) as well as an ACA-certified amputee peer visitor and trainer at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center. He also co-founded and is vice president of n2grate Government Technology Solutions, LCC, a business which focuses on hardware, software, training, data center and cloud services, and professional development for public sector and large business clients.

Judge Farley has many connections to Gonzaga including two sons who are Gonzaga alumni, Brendan Farley ’91 and Thomas Farley ’93, a daughter, Caitlin Farley, who is a Science Teacher at Gonzaga, and two grandsons, senior Gavin Farley and junior Jack McGee, who are current students.
 
Mr. Farley will give the keynote address over breakfast, which will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel (400 New Jersey Avenue) following Mass at the Church of St. Aloysius.
