Last-Second Save Lifts Lacrosse to Win Over Bullis

The varsity lacrosse Eagles are heading into the second half of the season with a 7-3 record. All three of their losses have come against nationally-ranked teams, with two of the three ending in overtime. In addition, two of their biggest wins of the year came in thrilling fashion: the team beat Gerogetown Prep in overtime last month, and on Monday, April 1, they won a nail-biter against Bullis. With seconds left and leading by one, senior goalie and captain Tim Marcille came up with an incredible save and sophomore Michael Bath thwarted the rebound opportunity to preserve the 11-10 win on the road. The week before the big win, during Gonzaga's spring break, the team travelled to Miami, FL to Belen Jesuit for the annual Jesuit Lacrosse Classic. The Eagles picked up three wins in two days, with the last being a 10-7 win over a tough Dallas Jesuit team. Here are some great photos from the game:

And on Tuesday, April 2 the team opened WCAC play with a 14-2 win over Ireton on Buchanan Field.  Best of luck to the  Eagles in their next WCAC showdown, versus Paul VI at
2:15pm on Saturday, April 6 at Word of Grace Fields (Old Redskin Park) in Herndon.
