Lacrosse Defeats Prep in OT and Beats Landon

After starting 0-2 on the season, the varsity lacrosse Eagles bounced back in a big way this week. On Friday, March 15 Gonzaga faced Jesuit rival Georgetown Prep in front of a great crowd at Georgetown University. Gonzaga was up 5-4 at the half, and would extend the lead to 7-5 after three quarters. Prep fought back to tie the game at 8-8 with 7:36 remaining, but Doane Kiechel '20 scored to make it 9-8 with 3:13 on the clock. The Little Hoyas tied it once again with just :48 remaining, setting up overtime. Gonzaga's Henry Mudlaff '19 won the opening faceoff and fellow senior Kurt Bruun scored an amazing goal to lift the Eagles to the win:

The Eagles were back in action on Wednesday, March 20 for a showdown with Landon, another IAC power and nationally ranked team. Gonzaga took a 8-3 lead into halftime behind four first half goals from Andrew O'Berry '20.  The Bears came out strong in the second half to cut into the lead, but the Eagles were able to hold on for the 10-8 win behind a great performance between the pipes by senior goalie Tim Marcille.
