12 Eagles Named to Winter All-Met Teams, Coach Turner Named Coach of the Year

Twelve student-athletes were named to Washington Post All-Met teams for their outstanding play this winter. Here is the list of honorees:

Basketball
First Team: Terrance Williams '20
  • According to the Post: "Williams was a key contributor for the WCAC champion Eagles, averaging 17.8 points and 7.3 rebounds against some of the area’s best competition."
Fourth Team: Anwar Gill '19

Honorable Mention: Chuck Harris '20

Coach of the Year: Steve Turner
  • According to the Post: "In his 15th year at Gonzaga, Turner is one of the most respected coaches in the area. The Eagles got stronger as they worked their way through one of the area’s toughest schedules, winning 14 of their final 15 regular season games and surging through the WCAC tournament. They rallied from a 13-point deficit against Paul VI in the semifinals and shut down archrival St. John’s in the championship game to capture the program’s third WCAC title in the past five years."

  • According to the Post: "Dinn had a knack for scoring clutch goals for the Eagles, including a hat trick to bring a third straight MAPHL championship to Eye Street."

  • According to the Post: "After suffering a concussion midway through the season, he returned to form and won Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and D.C. city titles."
